📢 Important Announcement for Whitecourt Minor Hockey Members 🏒
Dear Whitecourt Minor Hockey Association members,
We hope this post finds you well and enjoying your summertime.
We have some significant news to share with you regarding the current league many of our teams play in. The Northern Alberta Interlock (NAI) league is dissolving, and we, along with the majority of the current NAI member associations , have made an application to join the Northern Eastern Alberta Hockey League (NEAHL) and dissolve the NAI league.
Our primary goal is to ensure a seamless transition for all our players, coaches, and families. By joining the NEAHL, we will continue to offer competitive play while minimizing travel requirements. The league commissioner is committing to creating zones to support that. This exciting opportunity will not only enhance the hockey experience for our athletes but also foster new connections with teams from neighboring communities. This will affects our u9-u18 league play. This does not affect our TRAC AA or female divisions which will continue to play in their current leagues (APHL, NAHL, EFHL)
The NEAHL is known for its commitment to player development, fair competition, and community engagement, aligning closely with our association's values. We firmly believe that this transition will further strengthen our hockey community and open doors for our players to excel in the sport they love.
We are fortunate to have the support of Hockey Alberta along the way during this transition.
We want to thank all our members for their ongoing support and dedication. Together, we will embrace this new chapter and work hand in hand to make the NEAHL experience a resounding success.
Stay tuned for further updates as we progress through the application process. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us at president@whitecourtminorhockey.com
Let's continue our hockey journey with determination and enthusiasm!
Go Whitecourt!
