TRAC - U18 AA

Tryout Process Timeline

TRAC U15AA / U18AA TRYOUT PROCESS TIMELINE

Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate through these unprecedented times.  TRAC will be structuring tryouts based on recommendations set out by Hockey Alberta and following Alberta Health Services guidelines.  Our Number one priority is the health and safety of everyone involved.

September 7th - September 10th - WMHA will be hosting a conditioning camp.  All players will be free to attend, as these skates are being offered as additional development for players.  This will not be part of the tryouts and will follow the same physically distanced protocol set out by Hockey Alberta.  Those that are not from the WMHA may be able to attend but will need to contact 1stVP - Jamie Rhynold to confirm.  All players that wish to attend need to sign up through the WMHA website.

September 11th - 13th - TRAC will be hosting a Prep-Camp for the U15AA / U18AA levels.  Players will be placed on two different rosters and will take part in three physically distanced on-ice sessions.  As part of TRAC’s commitment to player development, we want to provide as much development time leading into tryouts as possible.  All Participants must be signed up for the AA Tryout to attend.  Any Players from out of town within the TRAC Draw-zone are also able to attend.  The cost of the Tryout Fee of $100 will be required no later than September 11th.  If you have already signed up on Ramp for the TRAC Tryouts, we will reach out to each individual person to confirm attendance.

September 14th - 17th - WMHA will be continuing its  conditioning camp.  All players can take part in this the same as the previous week.

September 18th - 20th - TRAC will be hosting a Prep-Camp for the U15AA / U18AA levels.

September 21st - 23rd - TRAC Will continue its Prep-Skates into the week in preparation of the Tryouts.  All players that took part in the TRAC Prep-Camps will remain in the same groups.

September 25th - 27th - The Selection process for the U15AA / U18AA will begin this weekend.  Players will be placed on two different rosters and will take part in four physically distanced on-ice sessions.  (Note: Goalies will be receiving an extra skills session, so will be on the ice five times throughout the weekend.)  Because we are adhering to Hockey Alberta’s return to play guidelines, players will remain in their groups for the entire weekend and will not be on the ice with other groups.  Following the skates on the 27th, those players selected to continue with the U15AA / U18AA TRAC Wolverines process will be posted on the website.  The coach will perform exit interviews with each player.  Additional information will be given to players over the coming weeks on additional skates.  Players not selected will return to their home association and will be able to take part in physically distanced skates.

As of August 28th, 2020, 2nd Tryouts may be granted as per Hockey Alberta, as more information is provided to associations from Hockey Alberta as to the process for any 2nd tryouts, it will be provided to any players that have been released from AA Tryouts.

September 28th - October 1st - The Selection Process will continue for those that were selected from the Main Tryout weekend for TRAC U15AA / U18AA.  Players returning from AAA & potential 2nd tryouts will be allowed to join this week as players that were selected are placed on two different rosters to take part in two additional physically distanced on-ice sessions.  Releases this week may happen at the discretion of the coach and will be communicated directly with the players.

October 2nd - October 10th - TRAC U15AA / U18AA will form a COHORT with each division with the players selected from the Tryout Process.  COHORTS will be taking part in competitive play, including practice and inter-squad games during this time frame.  Releases may happen throughout the process and will be communicated directly from the coaches.  A Final Roster of 19 players (Each Division) will be made no later than October 11th.  All players released from tryouts may return to their home associations.  All WMHA residents will report directly to their division director for direction.

November 02 - TRAC U15AA / U18AA will enter an exhibition series set up by Hockey Alberta and the NAHL.

November 16 - TRAC U15AA / U18AA will enter POD play set up by Hockey Alberta and the NAHL.
